A three-time PGA Tour winner and 2016 U.S. Senior Open champion, Gene Sauers overcame a life-threatening bout with Stevens-Johnson syndrome that required extensive skin grafts and sidelined him from golf for five years. His comeback earned him the PGA Comeback Player of the Year and later the PGA Tour's Courage Award.
